taking leave – Faroe Islands

I’d rather not leave today. Really rather not. But, in order to return, leave I must.

Awakened to clear skies and a lovely sunrise,

an abundant breakfast,

and a cappuccino at a favorite cafe, writing postcards.

All packed up and ready to travel. Headed to Reykjavík this evening and will have a couple of days to explore the city by foot.

This morning there was time to wander around Tórshavn for a time.

Then off to Vagar Island and the airport, with time for a picnic with a view,

and more vast vistas.

As I said, I’m reluctant to leave.

Now at the airport waiting to board.

Traveling mercies.

  1. Oh my gosh!! The sunrise gorgeous, the breakfast worth the whole trip (what’s that chocolate cake? Im sure they were expecting me), and the beautiful flowers and kids walking — such a colorful town. Hope you see the the colors as beautiful in the real as they come up on my screen !! Great trip. Thank you so much for sharing it with me. I’ve loved every minute!!

  2. I can only imagine how difficult it is to depart. What wonderful stories and photos you’ve shared. I can’t believe it’s time for you to move on and I wasn’t even there. I’ve so loved another remarkable adventure you shared through your blogs. Thanks.
